Special Delivery was founded by Lynn Deer in 1998. After many years of attending births, it was time to open an office and work in a way that would allow her to serve more families.  Karen Bove, LM, joined the practice on a full-time basis in January 2002.  In doing so, she and Lynn fulfilled a dream that they'd planned together for many years - best friends working together doing what they love to do!

 In late 2003, Lynn took the plunge and retired from the full-time, active practice of  midwifery in order to spend more time focusing on her family.  Birth continues to be something she loves so she still attends many births, in the role of birth assistant/attendant,  with Karen.

Karen, a mother of five, has been attending births for thirteen years.

Lynn, mother of two grown children, has been attending births for over twenty years.
